Happy Valentine’s Day! This blog is taking a romantic turn.
Drew and I decided a while ago that we should have our wedding at our house. It’s where he proposed (on the porch, after a perfect summer dinner from the taqueria on the corner), it’s our first “nest,” it’s where we’re building our life together.
At first, I was going to start a new blog to document wedding plans. But since we’re having the ceremony in the living room and the reception in the back yard, it seems logical to post all of the details here. Plus, it’s the easiest way to keep both families in the loop about what’s going on. So, put your gag reflex in check over the next few months, because I’m going to be sharing the progress.
We’ll be figuring out how to throw a wedding for our nearest and dearest at home, and doing some big projects to the house to get ready. So, come for the home improvement, stay for the posts about flowers and cake!

You should listen to your future husband on the cake front. Chocolate with Chocolate icing. He knows cake. It’s in his genes.

He’s already getting the Barb Shug cake for his birthday! Two in one year might make the universe explode or something — it’s a power I don’t want to mess with.
